Hello y’all. What do you think, does our playlist make a difference in our workout? We were on our way home last week and we were talking about the time I was in a Boot Camp class at 6 a.m. and I was saying how our trainer had us stretch out as soon as we got there then she had us run around the block, a very big neighborhood block! She timed us & I always had my headphones on with a playlist because I felt if I had my ‘tunes’ on, I ran faster. When I run around the hood in the mornings I run with my headphones on with my playlist, that I update regularly. If I get to the Lady Bird Lake / Butler Hike & Bike Trail Downtown, then I definitely use my headphones. I love the scenery, but I like my music. Music does boost your
Hello Friends. Now is the time to Support Women In Sports! There is too much bad talk because someone really put their foot in it. We have been watching & enjoying the Women’s World Cup since the beginning & of course cheering on USA! I don’t think any differently that they are women.
Hello friends. I have seen so many blog posts on How To Make Your Hair Grow Faster, but I wanted to let you know what works for me. Really all my life I have kept my hair long. I have occasionally had the short bob cut but for me, it’s actually easier to keep it long. I am more of a wash and wear. I know, I am really lazy when it comes to makeup application and hair styling. I don’t even know the last time I owned a bottle of hairspray or hair gel? I do have my ends trimmed regularly because my hair grows so fast with this mixture & to keep my hair follicles stimulated, I use this simple little mixture that I am sharing with you!
Hey friends, Happy Fitness Friday! Today’s Fitness Friday is about Get Moving With Bowling! Who remembers taking those field trips to The Bowling Alley? That was lots of fun! I thought it was anyway. We had this great place here that had a bar, karaoke and bowling alley, but unfortunately they closed the bowling alley place in the re-model of the location. Luckily there are still other bowling alleys in the Austin area.
Bowling is a great way to get moving & I thought it was a great feature for Fitness Friday. First of all, it is a great family event & getting the entire family moving is perfect. I love any activity that will get the family out of the house and active. Bowling is a sport for all ages, from pre-schoolers to senior citizens, so no excuses to not grab the extended family.
Hello Friends, I mentioned last week that we enjoy Field Trips for my husband also, not just skipping through lavender! We enjoy each others company & we venture into the other’s interests. It’s how we learn from each other. If we don’t learn from each other, we won’t be happy.
We checked out Real Ale Brewing Co. The Brewery is very welcoming for tours & the tasting room. We enjoyed both.
Hello Sunshine! Yes, it is officially summer. Time to get outside, work in the garden, participate in outdoor sports or observe outdoor sports. This is the time we take vacations at the beach or are just Busy Bee’s. However, when you are out & about, we need to stay hydrated. You have probably heard that we need 8 glasses of water a day, but in warmer days we actually need more. When we exercise we lose so much water because of sweating that we need to make sure we drink water before, during & after we exercise. If you only wait until after, you may already be dehydrated.
Hello Friends! I am a bit out today because I am running around Austin since I have taken over The Blog Love Project’s Instagram. We bloggers can be a part of groups & I happen to be in The Blog Love Project. This group is filled with bloggers that support each other. We all learn from each other and are able to share what we know. I have learned so much from this group.
Hello Friends & happy start of a new week. Hopefully you had a great weekend & joyous Father’s Day with family & friends. Now it’s Monday, yippee right? Well, for some, but for others~ not so hip, hip hooray. So, I am sharing with you how I start my days with positive energy & pass on that happiness to others. Being in good spirits is very contagious.
Hello Friends & Happy Fitness Friday! Summer actually begins next week, but the heat of summer has already begun! What better time to get fit with swimming! No time to lounge around by the pool, no no no! Get in the pool and start swimming to work your body because there are many benefits for your health. Swimming is a great way to burn calories and get you fit. Have you seen the body on those Olympic Swimmers?
Hi friends today we are going to talk about how you can keep mosquitos away from your yard with these plants! I love enjoying my coffee on our back deck in the morning & my after dinner fruit before bedtime, but here in Austin we have had lots of rain & with rain we get lots of mosquitos. I will get attacked by mosquitos immediately! It doesn’t matter if it is in the morning or the evening. I recently went to Home Depot to purchase color for our yard and the staff was so helpful in telling me there are plants that can keep mosquitos away. I want to share with you what we have in our yard that works and what Home Depot recommend.

Hello Friends! Have you been enjoying the great outdoors lately, but wondered how to protect yourself from sun damage? I have. If you saw my post yesterday, Blanco Lavender Festival & Hill Country Lavender Blanco, Texas, you saw me cutting fresh lavender on a beautiful Texas day. It is very important that we protect ourselves from the sun when we are enjoying the outdoors. There are many risks from those strong ultraviolet rays & don’t think just because the sun isn’t bright you are not in danger, you still need protection when outdoors.
Hello Sunshine & happy Monday! Did you have any Field Trips this weekend? Well, I have been longing to visit Hill Country Lavender Farms for so long now to cut my own lavender, but I decided to wait for The Annual Blanco Lavender Festival because what better time? It was a great Saturday field trip since we are in South Austin, about an hour away from us. This year is the 11th Annual Fest & the crowds came out. My first stop was to get my beautiful commemorative glass that is etched with Blanco Lavender Festival & have it filled with a Lavender Lizzie made with Miller Creek Lavender’s Margarita Mix. This is a beautiful drinking mix when mixed with champagne or vodka, but my favorite is Ginger Ale! I love to have a nice cold non-alcoholic beverage on warm days for my gatherings.
